Studio Drijfveer is a design studio based in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, founded by Thimo & Renate. 'Drijfveer' is a Dutch definition for "the willingness to do something". For us, wanting to design, build and sell fun and practical products is what drives us. Products that we love and think you will enjoy too.
We create minimalistic products for the home, office and store. Functionality is one of the most important aspects for us when designing new products. We believe that less is more, so we make it an effort to remove all unnecessary elements from our designs to make sure our products (and marketing!) are as minimalistic as possible.
All our products are designed, manufactured, packaged and shipped by us. We like to do everything ourselves as much as possible, but when that’s not possible we work together with local partners, which means all our products are (hand)crafted in the Netherlands.
Everything we create is made in small batches, resulting in limited numbers. Small batch production allows us to produce small runs of the designs and easily make adjustments. Another reason we like small batch production is for its sustainability. We're big fans of 3D printers because they reduce waste. All the Paper Roller parts are printed by our 3D printer, which we built ourselves. The material used is PLA, a biodegradable plastic.
